My Aurora Projector isn’t working. What should I do?
Most problems come down to three things: an underpowered USB source, ambient light in the room, or a remote battery. Work through those first. If none of them fix it, email us — it is covered by a two-year warranty and we replace rather than repair.
It won't turn on
Try a different USB-C cable and a different power source, ideally a wall adapter rather than a laptop or TV port. Low-power ports are the most common cause and the easiest to rule out. If it still shows nothing with a known-good cable and a wall plug, it's a fault — email us rather than trying anything else.
The effect looks weak or small
Almost never a fault. In order of likelihood: there's ambient light in the room, the unit is too close to the wall, the ceiling is dark or textured, or it's running on an underpowered USB source. Turn every other light off, move it a few feet back, and try a wall adapter. What it should actually look like is here.
The remote isn't responding
Replace the battery first — remotes often ship with a protective tab or a battery that's been sitting a while. Point it at the unit rather than the ceiling, and check nothing is blocking the sensor. If a fresh battery doesn't fix it, we'll send a replacement remote.
It won't connect to the app
Smart edition only. Make sure your phone is on a 2.4GHz network rather than 5GHz, since most smart devices in this category only support 2.4. Turn Bluetooth on during setup even if you're connecting over wi-fi. If it's still refusing, remove the device from the app, restart it, and add it again.
The Bluetooth speaker won't pair
Forget the device in your phone's Bluetooth settings and pair again from scratch. If it's already paired to another phone in the house it won't appear — disconnect it there first.
It's making a noise
It shouldn't. The motor runs whisper quiet, so an audible hum, whine or rattle is a fault rather than something to live with. Don't wait it out — email us and we'll replace it under warranty.
The timer isn't working
Check which duration is selected rather than assuming it didn't take. If no timer is set, the unit shuts off automatically at four hours, which some people mistake for a fault.
When to stop troubleshooting
If you've tried a different cable and a wall adapter and it still won't power on, or if it's making any noise, stop. That's a warranty claim, not a settings problem. Email info@aurora-projector.com with your order number and a short video if you can — most are resolved in the first reply, and we replace rather than repair.
Common questions
My Aurora Projector won't turn on. What should I check?
A different USB-C cable and a wall adapter rather than a laptop or TV port. Low-power sources are the most common cause.
Why does the effect look weak?
Usually ambient light, being too close to the wall, or a dark or textured ceiling. Turn all other lights off and move it back a few feet.
The remote isn't working.
Replace the battery and check nothing is blocking the sensor. If that doesn't fix it we'll send a replacement remote.
It won't connect to the app.
Connect your phone to a 2.4GHz network rather than 5GHz, keep Bluetooth on during setup, then remove and re-add the device.
It's humming. Is that normal?
No. The motor runs whisper quiet, so any audible noise is a fault. It's covered by the two-year warranty.
How do I claim if it's faulty?
Email info@aurora-projector.com with your order number and a short video. We replace rather than repair, at our cost.
