What size room does the Aurora Projector cover?

300 to 400 square feet, which covers most bedrooms and the majority of living rooms. In a smaller room the light is denser and more saturated; in a much larger one it still works but the bands spread thinner.

What that means in real rooms

A standard US bedroom is around 130 to 200 square feet, so it's comfortably inside the range — in a room that size the light wraps the whole ceiling and down the upper walls. A master bedroom or a typical living room at 250 to 350 square feet is squarely in range. Open-plan spaces above 400 square feet still work, but the effect is more diffuse and you may want a second unit at the far end.

Where to put it

A few feet back from the wall you want it to climb, pointed up at the ceiling, on a surface that isn't right under a shelf or a sloped section. A nightstand, a shelf, or the floor all work. Moving it further from the wall widens the spread; moving it closer concentrates it.

It's a 5.5 inch unit, so it fits almost anywhere — it doesn't need a dedicated spot.

What changes the coverage more than room size

Ceiling height matters more than floor area. A high ceiling means the light travels further before it lands, which spreads it wider but makes it dimmer. Ceiling color matters too: white and light reflect, dark absorbs. And ambient light beats all of it — a lamp left on will shrink the apparent coverage more than an extra hundred square feet ever would.

Small rooms

Work well, and arguably better. Less distance means denser, more saturated color, and the whole room is inside the effect rather than part of it. Turn the brightness down in a small bedroom — full brightness in a tight space is more than most people want.

Large and open-plan rooms

One unit will light a defined area rather than the whole space, which is often what you want anyway — the sofa end of a long room rather than all of it. If you want genuine whole-room coverage over 400 square feet, two units at opposite ends does it, and the bundle pricing makes that cheaper than you'd expect.

Common questions

How many square feet does the Aurora Projector cover?

300 to 400 square feet, which covers most bedrooms and living rooms.

Will it work in a small bedroom?

Yes, and it looks denser and more saturated. Turn the brightness down in a tight space.

Will one cover an open-plan living room?

It will light a defined area well. For genuine coverage above 400 square feet, two units at opposite ends works better.

Where should I position it?

A few feet back from the wall, pointing up at the ceiling. Further back widens the spread, closer concentrates it.

Does ceiling height affect coverage?

Yes, more than floor area. A higher ceiling spreads the light wider but makes it dimmer.
